Flood received his B.A. in Systems and Management in 1983 at the City University and his PhD in Philosophy in Systems Science at the City University in 1985. In 1997 he was awarded of Doctor of Science from the Hull University for his contribution to the field of management. After university Flood worked several years in the film business in the management of Paramount Pictures, in health service for the Berkshire Area Health Authority, and at the National Opinion Polls. In 1987 he was appointed Professor at the Hull University, and later also had a part-time appointment as Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Maastricht School of Management. Flood has been founding editor of the international journal "Systemic Practice and Action Research" and is also associate editor of the "Systems Research and Behavioral Science" journal. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control. Publications He has authored a dozen books and more than 100 articles. A selection: 1989.
