The Cammeraygal (variously spelt Cam-mer-ray-gal, Gamaraigal, Kameraigal or Cameragal) are an Indigenous Australian people that inhabited the Lower North Shore area of the present-day North Sydney Council in Sydney, Australia. Norman Tindale notes them as a horde of the Eora people,[1] who in turn formed part of the larger Kuringgai. The name 'Cammeraygal' is ensigned on the North Sydney Municipal Emblem and also gave name to the suburb of Cammeray. |
