Natalia Lesz (born 27 July 1981 in Warsaw, Poland) is a Polish actress and a pop singer, songwriter.[1][2]

Background

Natalia is a graduate of the renowned acting department at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University (NYU). While in New York, she has performed in plays both on and off Broadway. While living in New York, Natalia also immersed herself in studies at CAP21 (voice, music theory), The Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting and The Lee Strasberg Institute (acting, diction, voice). Natalia regularly stars in numerous Polish television shows and TV series. When teenager, she went to the National Warsaw Ballet School and performed as a soloist at the Polish National Opera. After graduating from New York University, she recorded her debut album, Natalia Lesz, produced by hit makers Greg Wells and Glen Ballard .

Natalia has already performed on major stages in the US and Europe, including an opening spot for British pop star Mika; Patricia Kass as well as for Celine Dion as a part of her current “Taking Chances” world tour. Her single "Power Of Attraction" remix reached #24 in the Billboard music charts. Her latest record “That Girl” was released in Poland and just after 2 months reached a gold status. Natalia has featured on Polish "Dancing With The Stars" and placed 2nd with the highest score in history of the show. Natalia has also became a face of a campaign, promoting Georgia in Poland and has received an honorary citizenship by the President of the country- Mikheil Saakashvili for her efforts to raise awareness and tourism of Georgia in Poland.

In January, 2009, Natalia was nominated by the POPCORN magazine, as "The Best Polish Singer of The Year". In February, she was nominated by the BRAVO magazine in a "Fresh Blood" category. In the same month, she was also nominated by the members of the recording industry for the prestigious “Fryderyki”, the Polish music awards. In March, Natalia had been nominated by the polish-edition Glamour magazine, in "The Most Glamorous Debut of The Year" category. Natalia has featured on Polish Dancing With The Stars and placed 2nd with the highest score in history of the show. In the new TV series on TVP, Tancerze (Eng. The Dancers), which first aired on the 3 April 2009, she plays one of the leading roles as "Inga". In May 2010, Natalia won a "Press and Media Award" at Top Trendy Festival in Sopot.

In 2011 she released her second studio album That Girl, which was promoted by the single with the same title. It smashed Polish radio stations and became one of the biggest hit of 2011 in Poland and gained some airplay in USA. The album, itself, received mostly favorable reviews from critics. Natalia has been praised for good vocals, lyrics and the whole production. The album was certified gold (over 15,000 copies sold). In 2012 Natalia released the second single from her second album, "Beat of My Heart". The song received good reviews from critics and Natalia has been compared to Kylie Minogue. The clip aired on HBO Plus and Logo TV in the US.

Natalia Lesz (ur. 27 lipca 1981 w Warszawie) – polska piosenkarka i aktorka. Członkini Akademii Fonograficznej ZPAV[1], Amerykańskiego Stowarzyszenia Kompozytorów, Autorów i Wydawców (ASCAP)[2] oraz Związku Artystów Scen Polskich (ZASP). Honorowa obywatelka Gruzji[3]. Absolwentka Wydziału Aktorskiego Tisch School of the Arts na Uniwersytecie Nowojorskim.

Biografia

Jest córką Aleksandra Lesza, założyciela firmy informatycznej Softbank, i Grażyny Lesz.

Przez osiem lat uczęszczała do Szkoły Baletowej w Warszawie[4]. Uczyła się w Royal Academy of Dance w Londynie[4] oraz Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater i Broadway Dance Center w Nowym Jorku[2]. W 2004 ukończyła studia na Wydziale Aktorskim Tisch School of the Arts na Uniwersytecie Nowojorskim i otrzymała tytuł Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) z wyróżnieniem[5].

Nad pierwszą płytą zatytułowaną Natalia Lesz pracowała w Los Angeles, początkowo z producentami: Johnem Poppo, Heather Holley, Robem Hoffmanem i Gregiem Wellsem, a później ze zdobywcą Nagrody Grammy Glenem Ballardem. Pochodzący z płyty singel „Power of Attraction” znalazł się na 24. miejscu notowania amerykańskiego magazynu „Billboard” Hot Dance Club Songs[6]. Z tym utworem Lesz wystąpiła w półfinale 45. Międzynarodowego Sopot Festivalu[7]. W 2008 artystka nagrodzona została statuetką VIVA Comet Awards w kategorii Debiut roku[8]. Otrzymała również Superjedynkę w ramach 45. KFPP w Opolu, także w kategorii Debiut roku[9].

Występowała jako support przed koncertami Céline Dion[10], Miki i Patrici Kaas[11].

Od 7 września do 30 listopada 2008 brała udział w 8. edycji programu Taniec z gwiazdami, emitowanego na antenie stacji telewizyjnej TVN. Jej partnerem tanecznym był Łukasz Czarnecki. Zajęli 2. miejsce[12].

W 2009 wokalistka otrzymała nominację do Fryderyka w kategorii Fonograficzny debiut roku[13]. W czerwcu tego samego roku została ambasadorką kampanii „HELP dla życia bez tytoniu”. Podczas letniej trasy koncertowej HELP Summer Tour zachęcała ludzi do rzucenia palenia[14].

W 2010 za wykonanie utworu „RadioActive” w konkursie „Trendy” na festiwalu TOPtrendy 2010 w Sopocie otrzymała Nagrodę dziennikarzy[15].

W 2011 nagrała cover utworu Filipinek z 1968 roku, „Batumi”, który został wybrany przez rząd Gruzji jako utwór promujący ten kraj w Polsce. Do piosenki został nagrany teledysk. Zdjęcia do niego trwały 10 dni i były kręcone w Batumi w nadmorskim kurorcie w październiku 2011 roku. W czasie zdjęć policja zamykała całe ulice w Batumi, a w produkcji teledysku brał udział cadillac z lat 50-tych i helikopter[3]. 18 października 2011 ukazał się drugi album studyjny piosenkarki, That Girl, który za sprzedaż ponad 15 tysięcy egzemplarzy[16] uzyskał status złotej płyty[17].

Od 15 stycznia do 15 marca 2013, przez dwa miesiące, teledysk Natalii Lesz do piosenki „Beat of My Heart” emitowany był na kanale HBO Plus Latin America w Brazylii, Meksyku, Argentynie, Kolumbii i Wenezueli[18].

W lipcu 2014 wokalistka została ambasadorką gruzińskiej wody mineralnej Borjomi[19].

Wiosną 2015 została jednym z trenerów dzieci biorących udział w pierwszej edycji programu Mali Giganci, emitowanego przez TVN[20].
Życie prywatne

W listopadzie 2014 Lesz urodziła córkę, Alicję[21]. Ojcem dziecka jest chirurg Adam Maciejewski[22].
